Recently, my niece had been stocking the refrigerator with lemons. Lemons, she heard, prevent cancer. The last I read in my e-mail is fresh fruits, lemons included, eaten on an empty stomach or just before meals detoxify our system and prevents cancer. Eating fruits before a meal these ways purportedly allows them to go straight from the stomach to the small intestine. Otherwise, they will stay in the stomach with the other food and ferment, thereby giving rise to problems like a bloated stomach and worse, balding, graying hair, dark circles under the eyes and nervous outburst. And if you have heard that you could get maximum juice out of lemons by soaking them for one hour in hot water, you ought to know too that heat could destroy the vitamins in fruits.
