Taiping ( 太平ايڤيڠ) is the second largest town in the state of Perak, Malaysia after Ipoh, the state capital. It is also the wettest town in Peninsular Malaysia. Before 1937, this town which is the town center for the district of Larut Matang and Selama, was the state capital.
