The Sibu Tua Peh Kong Temple has an interesting past. On 8th March, 1928 whenSibu town was destroyed by a big fire, the temple was unscathed and in 1945, when the Allied Forices bombarded Sibu, the town and the temple were e destroyed but the state of the deity that is the statue of Tua Peh Kong remained unharmed. These incidents were considered miracles and probably made the temple popular.
