A Tibetan man is seen here praying at the famous UNESCO Heritage site in Bodhgaya, the Mahabodhi temple near the bank of Falgu river, also site for Buddha's enlightenment. King Asoka is considered to be the original Mahabodhi temple. After Buddhism decline in India, the temple was forgotten and buried under soil and sand.The present temple which also houses the Diamond Throne was restored by Sir Alexander Cunningham for the British Archaeological Society.
