Having the Christmas tree at home may or may not be a Christian practice. Many centuries before the Christians erect their first Christmas tree, the pagans had already used it to represent eternal life when they celebrate Winter Solstice. Fruits like apples were hung on the tree to represent the plentiful food to come and candles were lighted to symbolize the warmth and brightness of the sun.
