Green pea otherwise known as English pea is that small spherical seed of the legume Pisum sativum. Sweet and starchy in taste, the pea is said to have twice the protein of most vegetables and healthier to eat than meat. Take note though that there has been rumours that food industries have passed off the cheaper brown peas as green peas by soaking them overnight in dye solution. The dye solution are banned items and frequent consumption would lead to bladder and colon cancer. Watch the peas you eat! They could be fakes!
