This is supposed to be a salad, a Malaysian dish, more specifically Indian Malaysian; but Chinese hawkers do peddle the fare especially in Penang. Remember at one time, one could get it in Chinese eating places in Taiping too but now, I'm not sure. Today, I had had as an appetizer to lunch, passembur; that's what this dish is called, prepared by a mamak, an Indian Muslim, that is.
So, what do you think are the ingredients that make up passembur? The thick, creamy gravy which contains groundnuts may probably hide the greens from view!
