Chicken Wrapped

Upon reaching Kota Bahru, my nephew took me to lunch in a normal looking eating shop near KB mall. Kota Bahru, the capital of Kelantan, is predominantly Muslim, with over 90 per cent of its population being Malay. I was not surprised then that it was a Malay eating shop that we went to. But then, lunch was not nasi dagang or nasi kerabu for  which the state is famous for. We had plain white rice eaten with deep fried chicken  and to quench the thirst, there was sirap bandung, a pink concoction of milk and a rose cordial syrup very popular with the Malays in Malaysia. The chicken was golden brown, crisp and tasty. It came wrapped in paper, something unusual and a novelty to me.
See, no plate!
