Clammed

I read there is a ramyeon-making machine in 7-Eleven at Icon Village in Singapore. Ramyeon reminds me of ramen. Ramyeon is actually Korean; the highest selling instant noodle brand in South Korea, produced by the South Korean food company Nongshim;  while ramen is Japanese, a dish consisting of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat or fish-based broth, flavored with soy sauce and topped with sliced pork, seaweed or scallions. Just the other day, I had one topped with Japanese clams. The broth was clear, not very thick or fragrant but edible somehow. My nephew said, since the clams were Japanese, they ought not to be fresh;  considering that they came all the way from the land of the rising sun. They weren't stale either but I thought I bit on some hard sand-like particles occasionally.
