Of Goldilocks and the Bear's Porridge

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is supposed to be a fairy tale but I suppose both you and I know there is no fairy in the story. The popular version has a little girl Goldilocks entering the forest home of three bears; Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear and eating their porridge and sleeping in their beds. Since the story is British, I suppose the porridge most probably is made of rolled oats or ground oatmeal and the most is it will be flavoured with sugar, honey, fruit or syrup to make it sweet or else with spices or vegetables to make it savoury. Don't expect it to hold a candle to the tasty one in Taiping, the rice based congee peppered with fish meat or pork, thinly sliced ginger, a sprinkling of spring onion and crispy you char kway. In Sunway Pyramid, Kuala Lumpur, once, I had my congee served in a single handle clay pot and there was seaweed in it.
