Once I had white porridge; once, I had brown porridge. Porridge I had had, either prepared at home or bought from eating shops; it's white normally but yesterday, I came home to some brown ones . Brown porridge can be prepared from whole-grained brown rice which gives it a nutty flavour. The brown porridge my niece cooked up was nutty mainly because of the big, juicy peanuts in it. There was an assortment of other stuffs added; sweet potatoes, carrots, the orange-coloured goji berries and even scallops. Goji berries have always been featured prominently in the cooking at home since they are not just palatable but they are supposed to improve the eyesight. The porridge was however brown because of the brown soy sauce used.
