How long have we been cooped up in the house, a month at least? That isn't too bad, I suppose; when compared to let say the life of Anne Frank, a German-born Dutch-Jewish diarist who had during World War II, hid from the Nazis with her family and four other people for almost two years in hidden rooms at the rear of the 17th-century canal house, now restored as the Anne Frank House, which yours truly was fortunate enough to visit while in Amsterdam. Even without the dreaded covid-19 virus, poor Miss Frank couldn't venture out of her hiding place for fear of being caught and persecuted; and food was scarce then; and it probably would be a blessing indeed if she had spinach, beans or mashed potatoes with kale; provided she had coupons for them of course. At this moment then, I would like to thank God for all the food we had during this current pandemic. Amen!
