Summer Holiday: Mussels and Beer

In Edinburgh, once I remember we put up in a quiet neighbourhood and had to lug our heavy luggages up to the third floor where we had booked an apartment for two nights. Before the sky turned dark, we had explored the place and was glad to find a supermarket in the vicinity. There, we had shopped for fresh vegetables and other foodstuffs. Our guide had earlier told us about the freshness of the seafood in Scotland and how cheap they were there compared to London. In the supermarket then, we had grabbed a can of shellfish cooked in white wine. The blue mussel Mytilus edulis are very common there, I suppose; and they did go well with the beer we bought at Uig.
