A National Dish

Nasi lemak, the Malay dish consisting of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leave needs no introduction in Malaysia. Deemed a national dish, it has its origin here and the dish is most loved by all the races living in the country. The dish is a favourite for breakfast and it is normal to see small temporary makeshifts  stalls selling nasi lemak set up by the roadsides to cater for school going children and people rushing off to work. Make no mistake though; nasi lemak can be eaten throughout the day. Once, I had it for dinner.
