Said to be a common dessert in Turkish and Iranian cuisines, baklava should be a common sight in both these countries - Turkey and Iran. May have seen it in a bakery somewhere in Shiraz, Iran; but had yet to lay a finger on one. Then, saw this layered pastry dessert filled with chopped nuts and a dash of some syrup being sold online and decided to order some. The syrup wasn't that sweet and it didn't taste that nutty. Maybe, there are better versions elsewhere.
