There was a pot of colourful tangyuan on the table; pink, green, orange, white, even maroon but no blue ones. I wonder aloud why not when there were plenty of bunga telang in the garden. The flowers would give the Tangyuan a beautiful blue. Then, I was told a relative had given the pot of tangyuan. Tangyuan, the sweet dessert of glutinous rice balls; is a must have item when the Chinese celebrate Winter Solstice. The glutinous rice balls, round as they are; symbolise unity, togetherness and reunion.
