First Dinner

Most people would probably be familiar with Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper but first dinner? Well, I was tempted to call our first dinner in Lombok, Indonesia just that. It was already dark when our plane touched down on Lombok International Airport and time for dinner, too. Our local driver recommended a rather posh eating place owned by a local Chinese. Dinner however was authentic spicy Lombok fare. There was the famed Lombok's grilled chicken, ayam taliwang and chopped eggplants,  beberuk terong; otherwise known as gado-gado Lombok, all served with hot hot chili paste aka sambal and Tempe too.Water that down with thick avocado juice and you'll be like us, delighted!

 Now, which is ayam taliwang and which is not?
