There was a big crowd in Tao Yuan, Taiwan during the weekend. I suppose the place drew a lot of local tourists. The Hakka restaurant was full when we went for lunch; so, we settled for another place. At least three bus loads of tourists were eating away and we were lucky to have an empty table. Many of the tables had Chinese steamed chicken on them; and my niece decided to order that among others; a fish dish, a prawn dish and a meat dish. The dishes all had big portions and when the meat dish didn't come, we had it cancelled. I like the prawn dish, fish dish and chicken dish in that order. The prawn dish actually consisted of little crispy, tasty deep-fried shrimps and the fish dish had a delicious sweet gravy probably spiked with sour plum sauce that teased the tastebuds. My sister said the steamed chicken was like the one in Ipoh, tender, tasty too; but we didn't finish the dish; it must've been a big cockerel which was served; too big for the four of us.
