On the second day of Chinese New Year, Swe Ling asked if we could get together for lunch. Eng Lai couldn't be contacted. Ah Heng and I had attended a gathering in the morning and he wasn't keen; so, I met Swe Ling at Aeon for a Japanese lunch. I thought I would just have green tea while she had her Soba noodles served in hot broth but when the side dishes of crispy fried salmon skin and salmon teriyaki came, I took more than a few bites. They were just fabulous with a dash of wasabi.
