For tea today, we had getuk ubi kayu; that's fried cassava fritters. Cassava is a root vegetable; our neighbour had been cultivating the plant in the little piece of land opposite her house and had sent some over upon harvesting them this morning. Bless her! We had it fried immediately! It had been a long time since I had such heavenly getuk ubi kayu, so crispy on the outside and tender inside!
