Ramen,the Japanese noodle dish, is said to be adapted from Chinese wheat noodle soups. The word ramen does sound like lamian 拉面, the soft wheat flour Chinese noodle in northern China but surprisingly it is said that ramen does not actually evolve from lamian. The dish is first recorded to have appeared in Yokohama Chinatown in the early 20th century. Bet it has spread to many other places in the world. Presently, have lingering thoughts of the ramen we had had in Nibong Tebal on the third day of Chinese New Year....
