Two S; Spaghetti and Singapore Fried Bihun. Mau Wei's spaghetti with a mop of a gravy on it didn't look quite appealing and her mother commented that my Singapore Fried Bihun 星洲炒米 smelled exceptionally fragrant. Bihun is Chinese for rice vermicelli ; and Singapore Fried Bihun, the stir-fried rice vermicelli with curry powder, vegetables, scrambled eggs and meat isn't really a Singaporean dish. It is supposed to be a Cantonese creation; in fact its origin is said to be in Hong Kong. I down my Bihun with a glass of cool iced lemon tea.
