Health Post : Walking and Dementia


It pays to take a walk; not just a walk after a hearty meal but a walk longer than that, about 10,000 steps a day as advocated by some experts as it is said to help prevent dementia. Dementia is the loss of our ability to think, remember and reason. As Alzheimer's disease has memory loss among its symptoms like forgetting dates, places and recently learned information, ultimately it means walking probably could help prevent Alzheimer's disease besides burning those extra calories.
