Lunch looked rather sumptuous and inviting but when my niece's friend from Penang dropped by for a visit, she brought along fried koay teow. Penang has always been famous for that and other hawker food but then, those which she brought were specially made at home by her mom. The koay teow was neatly put in a plastic container lined with banana leaves and there were eight of them, more than enough for everyone in the family! Each was garnished with prawns and Chinese sausage, chives and the bean sprouts looked plump, juicy and crunchy. I settled for lunch and hoped to dig in the gift from Penang later, crowning it perhaps with a piece of homemade cake. The raisins did look plump and juicy too.
Which is a gift from Penang and which is your pick?
