The heatwave seems to be officialy on. Barely two days after commenting that it rained every afternoon despite the news of a heatwave in the country, the weather suddenly changed towards the worse. The sun suddenly became unbelievable hot and the sky was unusually bright. It didn't rain as before and even when there were dark clouds, rain only trickled in momentarily. On a hot day like this, it was a pleasure to tuck in some Guilinggao 龜苓膏, especially chilled ones. That's a Chinese dessert said to be made from some Chinese herbs and the paste of the plastron of a turtle. Hence its name, Guilinggao or turtle paste; turtle jelly too since the dessert is in jelly form.
