Sunday Feast: White Fungus Dessert

On a hot Sunday afternoon, I dream of having chilled white fungus dessert. That's a Chinese-style soup made with white fungus, dried longan, black dates, red dates, lotus seeds, goji berries and sweetened with rock sugar which the family has occasionally. White fungus or pek bok nie is also known as snow fungus. It is commonly used in Chinese cuisine for sweet and savoury  dishes but no, I can't have it today. I just had it the other day when my niece made some; minus the red dates and goji berries, I think.
