Sunday Feast is Gỏi cuốn, Vietnamese spring roll that is; otherwise called rice paper roll. The rice papers were bought online and they were different from the ones used to make Chinese spring roll. For one thing, they were a lot whiter and had checkered designs which disappeared when dipped in water. The papers were hard and brittle and had to be softened with water first before they could be used to wrap; prawns, bean sprouts and vegetables if in Vietnamese spring roll but we make do with just vegetables, turnips, carrots, things like that that had been precooked and seasoned; a perfect snack for vegans!
