Have not heard of the Japanese food, Oden. As far as Japanese food is concerned, it has always been sushi or maybe ramen but then, one night, my nephew treated everyone to this Japanese food. Described simply as a Japanese one-pot dish, one would expect to find several ingredients such as boiled eggs, radish, fishcakes etc stewed in a pot of light, soy-flavoured dashi broth, the later being a type of Japanese stock. The oden we had was rather spicy and the broth tasted like Tom Yum soup. Most probably designed for the local tastebuds.
Guess what's in this oden?
