You'd probably remember Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's duet, 'Islands in the stream' but this really is Buddha in a stream. A statue of Buddha could be found in a stream near a little Chinese temple in Taiping enroute to Sasanarakkha Buddhist Sanctuary (SBS). Visit Dhamma Delights for more of SBS! Pretty paper pasted on the wall for decoration is called wallpaper. For decorating purposes, paper can also be folded into various shapes and hung and this is often done by Chinese for the Chinese New Year.

I remember Jack Lord used to say 'You are booked!' in the long running series 'Hawaii-Five-O' but then of course, it is a different 'booked' I am talking about here. 'To book' is to enter charges against in a police register and that isn't what joy is all about. So, what do you think is the meaning of this 'joy being booked'?

According to a survey conducted byDavid Gallahue, a professor of kinesiology and associate dean of academic affairs and research at the Indiana University School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation in Bloomington, more than 50 percent of children named a sport figure such as Michael Jordan as their primary hero.The professor found that disturbing as he was of the opinion that heroes should be someone closer to home like moms, dads, teachers and coaches. That should be some food for thoughts!
